Lead Software Development Engineer in Test - San Mateo, CA

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer in Test, you will have the opportunity to design and implement test framework and deployment infrastructure to drive the team towards ever increasing quality, continuous delivery and standardizing test frameworks. You will work closely with stakeholders such as Product Managers, Developers, Portfolio Test Engineers, and Architects to understand automation gaps and subsequently collaborate to address them.

You will need solid people skills to collaborate closely with teammates, mentor, lead and drive projects through to completion.  A passion for exploring new tools and keeping current with new technologies is a must. 

Your duties will include:

  • Lead the team that will build, enhance and maintain test automation frameworks
  • Technical expert on test automation tools and frameworks
  • Coach and mentor individual team members
  • Build business driven, sophisticated and maintainable automated test suites to test our universe of products and components
  • Drive adoption of Test Automation Technologies to maintain consistency across the company
  • Drive testing standardization effort to standardize tools and framework for internal teams and our customers
  • Gather metrics and provide test coverage analysis based on automated test results
  • Research emerging technologies, tools, and platforms and ascertain when, how or if they should be used
  • Continuously improve speed, quality, and ease of testing


Requirements
:

  • Have 5+ years of experience or its equivalence in a software engineering role.
  • Experience in developing large-scale test automation frameworks
  • A self-motivated team lead and a team player with good communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent software development skills in Java, JavaScript and other scripting languages
  • Strong experience with testing tools such as Selenium, Test Cafe
  • Experience with BDD (Behavioral Driven Development) and TDD (Test Driven Development)
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD tools and technologies such as TeamCity, Docker
  • Experience investigating and recommending tools to implement end-to-end development and deployment processes
  • Ability to solve complex problems with practical, maintainable, and scalable solutions
  • Accept feedback with eagerness to learn more
