Digital Architect - Remote, U.S

As a Digital Architect within the Guidewire Center for Digital Innovation, you will be part of an elite team responsible for helping customers find innovative solutions to achieve success.

In this role, you will engage with customers and prospects in strategic sales events where you will work to understand the needs of business leaders within many of the largest global Property and Casualty Insurance company’s. With your skills as a full stack developer, you will focus on modern front-end technologies, frameworks such as Angular and React, and creating a superior User Experience. Your role will be to help customers evaluate innovative technology solutions at a deep, architectural level, leading discussions with IT leaders and leading proof-of-concept engagements.

As a Digital Architect, you will work side-by-side with our prospects to find the right solutions, while making sure that our product management and engineering staff is kept abreast of product strengths and weaknesses. This position requires a rare blend of technical skills and a genuine passion for innovation and developing new solutions to difficult problems.

You will work in tandem with the sales executives and our compensation structure provides a significant bonus for achieving and exceeding objectives. Within the team bonus structure, we reserve a pool to reward extraordinary individual contribution.

 

The ideal candidate will be based in North America. However, you have the flexibility to choose where you are located and can work remotely or based out of one of the Guidewire offices.

40% overnight travel for customer visits within North America and Europe is required, with occasional trips to Asia. Guidewire promotes flexible working practices to strive for a work-life balance.

Required Skills for the Digital Architect include:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience as a full technology stack developer with strong front-end skills
  • JavaScript, ECMAScript, CSS, SASS
  • Development with Node.js
  • Single Page Web App Frameworks (Angular.js, Angular, React.js, Vue.js etc.
  • Build and test tools (Grunt, Karma etc.)
  • Basic skills in Java and JEE 
  • Cloud platforms knowledge (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • Experience and know-how in scalability and high availability in IT architecture, RESTful web services and API design, microservice architecture, virtualization, continuous integration, etc.

Desired characteristics for the Digital Architect:

  • Innovative, flexible and ready to learn and test something new
  • Possess very good technical skills in JavaScript, ECMAScript, CSS, SASS, LESS or similar technologies
  • Experience using build and test tools (Grunt and Karma)
  • Familiarity with Backend and Enterprise Technologies such as JEE
