Professional Services Developer Incubation Program
Who Are We?
Guidewire Software, Inc. exists to deliver the software that P/C (Property & Casualty) insurers need to adapt and succeed in a time of rapid industry change, and to ensure that every customer succeeds in the journey. We believe that P/C insurance plays a vital role in protecting people and business, and in enabling society to function. We specialize in serving P/C insurers exclusively, with a focused commitment that puts customer success above all else.
Our core competency is software development. We serve a global community of 200+ insurers in 29 countries, holding ourselves accountable for ensuring that our customers have the right technology to execute on their promises to policyholders over the long term. We invest heavily in R&D to build a technology platform that combines three elements—core processing, data and analytics, and digital engagement—to enhance insurers’ ability to engage and empower their customers and employees.
Who Are You?
A driven individual with strong software development and interpersonal skills, who has a deep familiarity with Java or another OOP language. This role is for anyone seeking an entry-level development/consulting position with an accelerated timetable for career progression. If you are a recent or upcoming graduate with an aspiration to travel, this program is the perfect opportunity to put you on a fast-paced, exciting career path.
Your Role: Ensuring Customer Success
You will be part of a small, highly-skilled team of functional and technical experts working at first offsite, and then onsite to deliver solutions that help customers meet their strategic goals. Working closely with the insurance company’s internal team and partners, you will become a trusted technical advisor and mentor. You will rapidly establish positions of trust and responsibility in complex implementations at some of the world’s foremost insurance companies.
The Incubation Period
Field consultants are expected to tackle a myriad of responsibilities and challenges as technical and subject matter experts in Guidewire's products and best practices at customer sites. This role begins with a strong incubation/training program to ensure you are adequately prepared, making it perfect for candidates looking for an accelerated route into technical field consulting. By spending 18-24 months in our Exton, PA Guidewire Service Center (GSC), you will take multiple Guidewire professional product certifications. You will also be enrolled in our GSC Graduate program, undertaking structured training designed to maximize your knowledge and effectiveness with soft-skills, Agile best practices, advanced product knowledge and overall Guidewire methodology concepts.
During this time, you will also be staffed on one or more customer projects where you will further master our products, methodologies, and procedures. Your career coach will also help identify opportunities for personal and professional growth and recommend additional prescriptive training options to best prepare you to represent Guidewire at our customer sites. The time spent in the GSC will equip you with the knowledge, skills, credibility and confidence you will need to be set up for success once you move on to our field consulting practice.
As a Java Developer based in our Guidewire Services Center (GSC) in Exton, you will be working with teams that are delivering application configuration and integration programs following Guidewire best practices. You will provide remote consulting support for our customers globally. Projects will vary from new customer implementations to upgrades, data migration and reporting. Your role may also involve leading a project and mentoring other junior team members. You will join a very progressive environment and have the opportunity to drive projects forward once you are to speed on the products and comfortable in your role.
Upon completion of your stint in the Guidewire Services Center (GSC), you will transition to our field consulting practice, with the freedom to re-locate anywhere within the United States.
