Description:

Underwriting Management (UM) is a component of Guidewire’s core processing component of the larger InsuranceSuite platform. The Business Analyst II will support other supporting Business Analysts in the successful business implementation of Guidewire Underwriting Management (UM) from inception phase through product roll out and into production support, as needed. The Business Analyst II will work closely with the client on requirements organization, requirements analysis, and use case test definition and execution. The Business Analyst II must have a general understanding of the underwriting workflow and exposure to systems integration of large enterprise business solutions.The Business Analyst II will also be responsible for building and maintaining features such as screens and business rules through the use of Guidewire Underwriting Management’s Studio tool.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Work closely with our customers in understanding their business requirements around the implementation of Guidewire UM

 

  • Create and maintain functional specification documents based on client’s business requirements

 

  • Implement and manage Guidewire UM configuration (screens, business rules, and workflow) per approved functional specifications.

 

  • Support Guidewire’s Professional Services, Product Development, and Cloud Services teams during client implementation

 

  • Attend project meetings for task tracking

 

  • Work closely with the project team to report project status, issues, mitigation, and other project related activities

 

Key Competencies:

 

  • General understanding of the commercial underwriting process from submission intake to post-issuance processes.

 

  • General understanding of policy administration, rating engines, underwriting workflow, and content management

 

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

 

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills

 

  • Execution of business requirements configuration and fine-tuning within any business user tools

 

  • Ability to work with project and business constraints such as time & scope (previous work in a consulting role is desirable)

 

  • Versed in software delivery life cycle (SDLC)

 

  • Excellent analytical, interpretive and evaluation skills to make appropriate decisions

 

  • Proven track record of innovation, forward thinking and self-motivation

Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • 3 or more years in the insurance industry or software industry servicing the insurance space
  • Technical experience with packaged software and some technical proficiencies required
  • Experienced with working in a cross-functional team and with team members in different geographical locations
  • Experienced in developing and maintaining relationships with internal team members, customers and partner organizations
