Manager, Product Development

The Manager of Product Development is a self-starter, a visible organizational leader, a hands-on problem solver and a relationship builder.  The manager continuously builds intimate institutional knowledge that spans all teams and functions within the company as well a deep understanding of the evolving competitive landscape. The manager oversees the Product Management team and works for the Chief Information Officer and with the VP of Engineering and Head of Design to build and prioritize a backlog of strategic and tactical software requirements for internal CRM and customer facing web applications. The manager has in-depth knowledge of user experience design and demonstrates the ability to author user stories and functional specifications and work closely with software engineers and quality assurance

What You’ll Do:

  • Guide the agile development processes including quarterly planning, metrics gathering, sprint planning, grooming and overall sprint deliverables
  • Owns all Product roll out planning and execution including training, written deliverables, virtual project demonstrations and in-person presentations
  • Lead meetings with multiple stakeholders to identify and prioritize software development and business process improvement initiatives
  • Vendor contract negotiations in conjunction with Finance and business teams
  • Develop detailed functional specifications, user stories, visual mockups for stakeholder review
  • Gather feedback and approval from relevant stakeholders pre-development and post-development

What You Have:

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience
  • Ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders, from a junior associate to a client to a strategic partner/vendor to a senior executive
  • A strong understanding of Web site usability, user experience, and a high level of empathy for internal and external product users
  • Must be detail-oriented, extremely organized, and have exceptional writing and communicating skills
  • Operates effectively, and with a sense of possibility, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • An internal consultant mindset, with proven experience and mastery of this approach is essential
  • Working knowledge of Jira and Agile Methodology
