2018 Guggenheim Securities Investment Banking Analyst - Houston, Oil & Gas

About the Position

Guggenheim Securities Investment Banking unit is seeking candidates to join its Analyst Program. This program offers an unparalleled opportunity to work as part of small client teams on major strategic assignments, providing meaningful exposure to senior bankers and client representatives. We are seeking bright, highly motivated individuals with solid finance knowledge coupled with strong technical skills.

The role will be based in our Houston, TX office with our Oil & Gas team. Guggenheim Securities' Oil & Gas Investment Banking group provides specialized financial advisory to the upstream, midstream, oilfield service and downstream sectors of oil & gas. Staying true to the Guggenheim Securities' model, lean deal teams provide exceptional experience and competitive deal flow for incoming candidates.

Specific responsibilities include

Developing and maintaining complex financial models.

Valuation analysis.

Company and industry research.

Preparing client presentations and interacting with senior bankers, clients, lawyers and accountants.

Skills & experience required

Prior experience as an investment banking, private equity or corporate finance intern is a plus.

Core modeling and valuation experience.

Significant level of maturity and the ability to work as a part of a small team with top company executives and senior management.

Highly organized, with the initiative and ability to work with limited supervision.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Strong technical skills.

Extensive familiarity with MS Excel, MS Powerpoint and MS Word. Familiarity with Thomson/Factset and Bloomberg a plus.

Must be on track to receive a Bachelor's degree in Dec. 2017 – June 2018

Must successfully pass a background check.
