Environmental, Health & Safety - Summer Student

Start date of contract will be May 6th

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct a gap assessment of existing chemical inventory database against current chemicals used at the manufacturing site.
  • Review hazard and risk data and compare to published Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Make suggestions on how to improve the chemical inventory to make it easy to search, use, and update
  • Update the chemical inventory database based on gap assessment
  • Update SDS database for any gaps identified
  • Develop Hazard Communication Tools for manufacturing areas based on unit operations, active pharmaceutical ingredients handled and associated risks
  • Be involved in JHSC activities and assist with conducting JHSC inspections
  • Support the EHS team by completing projects and initiatives related to environment, health and safety programs

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Pursuing aBachelor of Science degree program in chemistry or biology, or a college/university occupational health & safety program
  • Proficient computer skills (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strongcommunication skills
  • Self-driven to achieve results
  • Works well in a team environment and motivated to make a difference
