SEC Director

Remote
We are seeking an experienced SEC Director to build and lead our US GAAP and SEC financial reporting requirements. In this role you will have primary responsibility for the preparation and filing of SEC filings including 10-Q/10-K, as well as supporting other SEC filings and investor communications including 8-Ks, press releases, and investor calls. This newly created position reports to the Vice President, Corporate Controller. You have the choice to either be located at our head office based in San Francisco or you can work fully remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Company’s SEC reporting function owning the preparation and filing of SEC documents including the 10-Q and 10-K.
  • Prepare key SEC reporting disclosures, including the MD&A, cash flow statement, and earnings per share.
  • Manage and review footnote support schedules, prepare tie-out binders and disclosure checklists.
  • Partner with Investor Relations, Communications, Legal and various other business partners to prepare external communications, presentation materials, including earnings releases and investor presentations.
  • Research and resolve complex SEC and US GAAP reporting issues and document technical positions and policies for the Company.
  • Support the external annual audit and quarterly review process.
  • Partner with Internal Audit to ensure adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years of related accounting experience at a public company and/or public accounting firm.
  • Certified Public Accountant required.
  • Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance, economics or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP.
  • In-depth knowledge of SEC reporting.
  • Strong communication skills, including excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Strong attention to details and excellent organizational skills.
