Security Manager at The Roxy Hotel
Reports To: Director of Security
The Security Manager will perform all of the roles of House Officer and Lead Fire Safety Director. Oversee and coordinate the completion of all tasks and assignments on shift. Ensure growth and development of all House Officers. Continually monitor department performance and procedures for improvement. Ensure all policies and protocols are being enforced. Ensure proper handling of security incidents and investigations with complete and accurate incident reports. Provide excellent communication, customer service and follow-up to guests experiencing any security-related incident or service issue. Act as working liaison for event and VIP security. Assist with department training, disciplinary actions, payroll and scheduling.
Ensure security reports and investigations are complete and accurate. Ensure House Officers are following all policies and procedures correctly. Ensure all necessary shift tasks are completed. Ensure all logs, incident reports shift recaps, and inventories are complete and accurate. Monitor all security & life safety systems and schedule maintenance as necessary. Conduct side-by-side training with House Officers. Administer performance assessments and disciplinary actions as necessary. Resolve team member conflicts. Inventory emergency supplies and recommend purchases. Conduct/assist with evacuation measures during an emergency. Train hotel fire brigade members. Schedule necessary maintenance of hotel life safety systems. Support other departments as necessary.
Provide guests with superior customer service. Handle and respond to all telephone and email inquiries. Assist with dead room moves and check-outs. Distribute employee packages, paychecks and MetroCards. Assist with VIP security, event, and contractor functions.
Job Knowledge & Skills:
-Experience with CCTV/DVR systems strongly preferred
-Computer literate - proficient with Microsoft Office Suite is a MUST
-Strong writing skills is a MUST
-Experience with Micros Opera and/or GoConcierge strongly preferred
-Experience with Saflok, Vingcard, or Win-Pak systems strongly preferred
At least three years of experience in hospitality, housing, or facility security, with at least one year in a management role.
Education / Certifications:
-New York State Security Guard License (required)
-FDNY Fire Safety Director (F58 or F85) Certification (required)
-FDNY Fire Guard (F01) License (strongly preferred)
-FDNY Fire Drill Conductor (F07) certification (strongly preferred)
-FDNY S12 & S13 Citywide Sprinkler/Standpipe System Inspection certification (strongly preferred)
-CPR/AED/First Aid certification (strongly preferred)
College degree is strongly preferred
-Capable of working effectively with minimal supervision
-Effective leader, trainer and point person
-Excellent customer service skills
-Excellent written and verbal command of English language
-Able to multi-task and work effectively at a fast pace
-Organized and attentive to detail
-Timely, reliable and takes accountability
