Overnight Manager

The Roxy Hotel is looking for a motivated, charismatic and reliable Overnight Manager for our team. This individual will be responsible for providing guests with prompt and personalized service, all the while making quick and efficient decisions to improve the experience of each guest’s stay. The position is hands-on with heavy involvement in Front Office operations, and requires someone who is organized with sharp attention to detail. The ideal candidate is inspiring, professional, and enjoys providing excellent customer service.

Essential Functions:
- Oversee all aspects of overnight operations, including overseeing and monitoring employees in Front Office, Front Service, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Security in order to maintain productivity
- Train and supervise staff during the overnight to maximize guest service
- Direct guests and team members during emergency situations and inform all required executives
- Make informed and rational decisions during high stress situations in order to keep all parties involved calm and the environment of the hotel consistent to standards; informing all management required
- Handle and accommodate all guest requests and complaints with professionalism while in accordance with established standards
- Create a work environment that encourages empowerment, learning, and mutual respect among team members
- Liaise with Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Security to ensure that all overnight team members are productive and on task during their overnight shifts
- Conduct pre-shift meetings with team members from all departments
- Coordinate with Front Office Managers to ensure staffing is appropriate for high demand times

Peripheral Functions:
- Give feedback to department heads regarding performance of overnight team members in their department
- Conduct morning pre-shift meeting (at end of shift) to provide recap of major events or issues arising in the night for follow up during the day
- Ensure room inventory is closely monitored and closed out properly during high occupancy and sold out situations
- Monitor GuestWare usage and ensure all calls are entered for tracking of guest issues and response times
- Knowledgeable about neighborhood recommendations, must use SGH neighborhood guide

Job Knowledge and Skills:
- Computer efficiency
- Opera (PMS)
- Microsoft programs
- VingCard (key system)
- GuestWare (CRM)
- NYC Fire Safety Director Certification
- Fax and copy machine
- Knowledge of cashier function
- Knowledge of how to work a CB radio

Work History:
- Minimum two year management experience in the hotel field

Education:
- College degree preferred
