Events Manager at The Soho Grand
The Soho Grand Hotel is looking for a motivated, personable, and reliable Event’s Manager to execute and oversee events team. This individual will be responsible for providing clients with prompt and personalized service, all the while making quick and efficient decisions to improve the experience for each event. The position is hands-on
with heavy involvement in Catering, and requires someone who is organized with sharp attention to detail. The ideal candidate is inspiring, professional, and enjoys providing excellent customer service.
This position reports directly to the Food & Beverage Director and works closely with the Director of Catering. This position acts as a liaison between Clients and the department. Main responsibilities include event production, interacting with clients, and maintaining a flow of information between the Client and internal departments to include the Food and Beverage Department, Kitchen, and Catering Department.
o Coordinate and assist the Director of Catering with all catered events, to include meetings, receptions, press junkets, etc.
o Enforce terms for extension and guest increase during the event with Clients under Director of Catering's parameters
o Input event details into the Delphi System Management Database (hold date, client contact information, etc.)
o Post upcoming BEO'
o Write catering logs for each event, including event description with shortfalls and accomplishments, client feedback, areas to improve upon etc.
o Create detailed Banquet Event Orders
o Facilitate walk-throughs with clients that pertain to event setup, production and details post contract and confirmation
o Attend walk-throughs with the Director of Catering and Client pre contract and confirmation, in the event of setup or production questions
o Assist and oversee day of event setup and logistics with event captain, CSM, Event Coordinator and Director of Catering
o Represent the Catering Department at all events, communicate when not able to be present and expected to find suitable coverage
o Solicit paid events
o Create and submit check requests for vendors
o Look books for all event setups
o Inventory and ordering for Catering
o Train F&B servers/managers in catering events, so they are able to contribute
Reports To: Food and Beverage Director
Direct Reports: Catering and Events Team, to include captains etc.
