Court Procedures Clerk

Responsibilities: The Court Procedures Clerk is responsible for the day to day execution of all functions of the Court Procedures Group in the Firm's Litigation Department, including: rules compliance review, service and filing (both electronic and manual) of Court documents in federal and state jurisdictions throughout the U.S.; docket research and document retrieval; assistance in the preparation, issuance and service of process and subpoenas; assistance in the initiation of actions both electronically and manually in federal and state courts; participation in the Court Procedures Group's CM/ECF electronic filing rotation by assisting in the maintenance and oversight of the CM/ECF registration process, execution of the electronic filing workload, performance of daily court runs to federal and local state courts; and providing assistance to Business Unit marketing efforts through subject matter or litigant electronic court docket monitoring. In addition, the Court Procedures Clerk participates in all of the Court Procedure Group's Knowledge Management initiatives and projects, including maintenance of and upgrading of the Group's workflow tools and iNet resource pages.RequirementsRequirements: Bachelor's Degree preferred with a minimum of two years relevant experience in a law firm setting. Candidates should have a working knowledge of federal and state court rules, courts' structures, procedural legal research, litigation support and MS Office experience. Candidates must possess a professional demeanor, superior oral and written communication skills, strong client service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment.
