The Ledgers Technology team is responsible for the firm's books and records. The team provides Operations with the tools necessary to manage post-execution functions for firm. Key functions include real-time posting of transactions to compute cash balances/security positions for the firm's security master ledger, control sub-ledger & bank sub- ledger. Ledger Technology has started a multi-year technology infrastructure plan to redesign the overall technical architecture and create the Firm's next generation ledger. In addition to enabling the elimination of numerous legacy applications and functions, this will also help keep up with the growing demands of clients diversifying their trading onto complex strategies and instruments. Day-to-day work in the Ledgers team involves participating in various projects of many sizes and complexities, from small one-person work-packages to large, global projects where an in-depth understanding of the firm's business flows can be gained.



  • Development across the full project life-cycle including design, programming, code management and testing
  • Communicate regular status updates to management and colleagues for development and project responsibilities
  • Ownership of key project and application components
  • Contribute your knowledge and engage with global development team to promote best practice technical and functional development across CSW applications and supported businesses
  • Partner with operations teams for requirements definition
  • Hands on coverage and assistance to the support team for critical production issues


Basic Qualifications

  • Candidates should have a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience working in a comparable environment
  • High degree of competency in Object Oriented Design and Analysis
  • Strong hands on experience with Java and RDBMS in a UNIX environment
  • Experience in test-driven development
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle including analysis, design, development, code management and testing skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail and sense of ownership
  • Effective communication and team working skills
  • Comfortable working within a group that both welcomes and challenges new ideas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Sybase and UDB/DB2 experience
  • Messaging and distributed architecture experience
  • Financial markets experience
  • Familiarity with UML
