Consumer and Investment Management (CIMD)

The Consumer and Investment Management Division includes Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), Private Wealth Management (PWM) and our Consumer business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs). We provide asset management, wealth management and banking expertise to consumers and institutions around the world. CIMD partners with various teams across the firm to help individuals and institutions navigate changing markets and take control of their financial lives.

Consumer

Consumer, externally known as Marcus by Goldman Sachs, is comprised of the firm's digitally-led consumer businesses, which include our deposits and lending businesses. It also includes our personal financial management app, Clarity Money. Consumer combines the strength and heritage of a 150-year-old financial institution with the agility and entrepreneurial spirit of a tech start-up. Through the use of insights and intuitive design, we provide customers with powerful tools that are grounded in value, transparency and simplicity to help them make smarter decisions about their money.

FULFILLING YOUR POTENTIAL

The Solution Engineer role is a technical position which supports the delivery of integrated solutions and broad architectural changes for new business/technology initiatives as well as the re-engineering of existing system flows.

A Solution Engineer:

  • Independently manages multiple workstreams, relationships and deliverables across a variety of stakeholders (Marcus and downstream Federation teams)
  • Guides the engineering of solutions that will enable new products and platforms to be deployed into our ecosystem
  • Coordinates the timelines and milestones associated with requirement grooming, testing and project Go Live
  • Manages the full lifecycle of a program with particular focus on data analysis, architecture designs and identification and mitigations of risks
  • Develops deep market expertise in a new product / platform
  • Broaden exposure to a wide range of stakeholders


The Solutions Engineering team:
  • Collaborates with downstream stakeholders and influence changes to enterprise architecture to accommodate for new CIMD products and platforms
  • Is responsible for helping the Firm understand the CIMD business/technology initiatives' impact and coordinating across the firm to ensure timely and quality delivery
  • Influences the architecture and technology approach to be in line with Firmwide and Marcus technology strategy priorities
  • Is a key component to the product initiation, development, and product/platform deliver
  • Partners with Federation stakeholders, Product Owners, Solutions Architecture, Development Teams and Technology Managers to design and deploy large-scale product solutions


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • The ability to critically examine current processes in order to propose and develop functional improvements
  • Ability to formulate conversion and test plans across multiple teams and systems
  • Ability to work with people at all levels, building rapport and consensus on issues, and helping to move projects forward
  • Ability to communicate with senior business unit managers and direct reports; understanding business needs/concerns and helping them liaise with teams across the firm
  • Understanding and experience of project management from initiation to implementation (risk/issue management, project communication, project governance)
  • A proven track record in delivering projects of various sizes (functional complexity and/or resources)
  • Strong knowledge and appreciation of technology change. Software development experiences a plus but not essential
  • Interested in following up on detailed business or technical issues and understanding the functional and technical impact of any change
