Securities, Sales & Structuring Strats, Futures Market Strategist, Analyst/Associate/VP


OVERVIEW As a strategist who sits in the Securities Division, you will play an integral role on the trading floor. Throughout the division, Strats are using markets observations, quantitative analysis and technology to solve business problems. THE SECURITIES DIVISION Our core value is building strong relationships with our institutional clients, which include corporations, financial service providers, and fund managers. We help them buy and sell financial products on exchanges around the world, raise funding, and manage risk. This is a dynamic, entrepreneurial department with individuals who have a passion for the markets, thrive in fast-paced, changing environments, and are energized by a bustling trading floor. SALES & STRUCTURING STRATS The Sales & Structuring Strats team performs quantitative and other analysis, working with tools, models and data to help facilitate transactions. The team includes experts in financial markets, products, structuring, technology, data analysis, marketing, and client discussions. We work with Sales, Trading, Technology and other areas of the Securities division, and with clients. The Futures Strats team is client facing and works closest with the GS Futures Commission Merchant business (FCM).


HOW YOU WILL GROW YOUR CAREER AND THE BUSINESS You will help grow Goldman Sachs market share in our listed futures and options business. You are passionate about the markets and have industry experience, an outgoing personality that likes to engage with teammates and clients, and a quantitative bend. You are joining a small team of Futures Strategists, within the GS Strats community and a flagship FCM business. The role has traditional strategist features with aspects of acquisition sales and sales-trading.

Your primary responsibilities will be attending and leading key external meetings, working on the desk to generate insights and ideas that differentiate us from our competitors, and creating materials that you and the team will use to pitch clients. The work will be both products and markets-specific, to the listed futures + options space, and the major global equity & FICC macro markets they trade in. GS is an industry leader in the space, with a strong platform already in place that you will leverage to achieve your goals and contribute to.

Basic Qualifications

  • Multiple years financial industry experience with passion for macro markets • Expert product knowledge of cross-asset futures and listed options • Previous experience working with traders and portfolio managers • Clear critical thinking, strong communication skills, creativity and ability to self-start • Basic quantitative and technical skills in time series data, statistics and probability

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sell side financial industry experience • Coding skills or an engineering background • Advanced degree is a plus
