Securities, Global Liquidity Products, Associate/Vice President, New York
Global Liquidity Products (GLP) is looking for an Associate/Vice President to join its structuring and marketing team in New York. The Global Liquidity Products group is a business established within the Securities Division mandated to source secured and unsecured funding, price and manage liquidity risk across the division’s trading activities, optimize inventory and collateral, and oversee the firm’s asset-liability management.
GLP partners with Sales, GSAM, IMD and IBD to raise liquidity globally from a broad range of institutional counterparts, including banks, insurers, asset managers, securities lenders, corporates and pensions. GLP’s products include repos, swaps, loans and notes as well as more complex products. The structuring and marketing team is responsible for developing the necessary delivery mechanisms to source this funding for a range of firm inventory. The desk works closely with clients and various groups within the firm to develop and execute these sophisticated financing solutions and optimize the funding book across existing and impending regulations.
The structuring and marketing team works alongside GLP traders who manage a trading book with various liquidity, credit, currency, and interest rate risks and deploy funding to all Securities Division trading businesses. The GLP team works out of the New York, London and Hong Kong offices and has clients in the US, EMEA and Asia.
–Work closely with senior members of the GLP team across structuring and marketing functions
–Create strong partnerships with Sales, GSAM, IMD, IBD and clients
–Trade negotiation, execution and maintenance including reviewing legal documents and account set-up
–Prepare marketing materials and coordinate daily pricing requests
–Prepare transaction memos; assist with new product memos
–Develop accounting, regulatory, bankruptcy and other expertise necessary to develop, optimize and market GLP products to internal sales and clients
–Perform GLP transaction, GS securities inventory and balance sheet analysis to drive funding axes
–Work with Corporate Treasury, Finance Division and executive office to analyze GS’s overall liquidity and funding strategies/risks
–Work with equities structuring on acquisition, product development and optimization of the equities business with particular focus on synthetics
Basic Qualifications–5-7 years of relevant work experience
–Strong communication and teamwork skills
–Ability to multi-task with high attention to detail
–Analytical, problem solving and quantitative skills
–Strong modeling (excel) and presentation skills (word/power point)
–Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and lead long-term complex projects
–Enthusiasm and strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications–Prior funding, equity synthetic, structuring, client facing and/or legal experience
