YOUR IMPACT

As a SIMON frontend engineer, you will play an integral role in defining and implementing the face of the largest structured products platform existing today. We are looking for exceptional frontend engineers who can quickly build visualizations that are highly performant and informative. An expertise in open-source technologies, modern web standards / best practices and the Javascript ecosystem is required. Team Description

Goldman Sachs' strats are world leaders in solving complex business problems using mathematics and engineering skills. Our team is specifically focused on building an electronic multi-dealer platform called SIMON which is quickly evolving in to the market standard for structuring, distributing, and trading structured notes. This is a unique opportunity for you to be part of a highly productive and motivated group of software and quant engineers, who are constantly looking to innovate and provide best-in-class FinTech platform to clients. You will collaborate on a daily basis with sales and trading involved in the SIMON effort.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Use modern build tooling like Webpack 2 and Gulp to quickly iterate on valuable features for our clients
  • Use libraries like React, Redux, and Backbone to build flexible, reusable components
  • Optimize front end performance by leveraging web workers and other modern web technologies
  • Write beautiful code that adheres to our stringent ESLint standards
  • Collaborate with quant engineers to make state of the art pricing and analytics electronically accessible on the platform
  • Expand SIMON solutions to other product classes such as insurance
  • Collaborate with sales and trading on the daily basis to push the FinTech strategy and improve profitability of our business

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience with Javascript, HTML, CSS
  • Experience building UI for large scale applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passionate about modern front end development - You're comfortable comparing TypeScript to Flow and can tell us why you prefer one over the other
  • Knowledge of Javascript frameworks like React, Redux, and Backbone
  • Strong interest in learning about financial products and markets
  • Passionate about entrepreneurship in FinTech space
