Divisional Overview

Residential Mortgages Asset Management (RMAM) is a business unit within the Realty Management Division (RMD) primarily supporting the Security division’s Mortgage Loan Trading and Investment Banking’s Structured Finance desks. RMAM is responsible for directing and facilitating due diligence for the financing, acquisition and sale/securitization of consumer and residential loan portfolios, and ensuring completion of transaction closing requirements. Post trade RMAM is responsible for the asset management and execution of the portfolio’s strategies.

Role Overview

Goldman Sachs & Co, located in Irving TX, is seeking an Analyst to support the Warehouse Asset Management) and Mortgage Loan Trading and Structured Finance groups. Consumer, residential and commercial real estate loans are represented. The successful candidate will join a team responsible for ensuring integrity, definition, structure, and unity of purpose of data in Goldman Sachs system of record.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyzes portfolio trends for risks and opportunities relative to credit, collateral and operational efficiencies with minimal guidance
  • Develops ad-hoc reporting
  • Develops reporting solutions through multiple tools as needed. Ability to produce interactive graphs, pivot tables, etc. for reporting
  • May participate in partnering with Information Technology and IBD in support of Data Warehouse, reporting and other projects as assigned
  • Presents analysis to different Warehouse groups in a clear, concise and actionable format
  • Maintains and applies knowledge of consumer lending data
  • Maintains systems for tracking projects and communicate results to different business groups

Basic Qualifications• Strong academic background – 4 year related business, math, or accounting degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA equivalent

  • Solid analytical/logical mindset and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (clear, concise, and confident) with the ability to manage internal and external relationships
  • Must know Excel at an advanced level
  • Experience working with large sets of data a plus
  • Prior technical or quasi-technical experience a plus
  • Tableau experience a plus
  • Mortgage banking or other financial industry experience preferred
  • Able to work under tight time constraints and extended hours as required
  • Solid analytical/logical mindset and attention to detail
  • Proficient in SQL and Excel
  • Knowledge of Database objects and data structures
  • Project Management and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage expectations until projects are finished
  • Team player
