Provide application lifecycle support for critical GS Internet facing applications with continuous focus on improvement and performance measurement. Interface directly to the local internal client base, executing their requirements within a global framework. Work with project management and application management teams to maximize the quality of software releases and minimize risk to the environment. Build and maintain relationships with various GS technology and business organizations. Contribute to the technical understanding and promotion of new and existing standards, solutions, and tools. Work in partnership with DMZ stakeholders to design, implement, manage and support a highly available and secure infrastructure. Creation, ownership and co-ordination of project tasks for the team as well as stakeholder groups and BU teams. Provide technical direction, leadership, advice, and training to other members of the team. Understand existing DMZ architecture and work with various technology teams to develop and execute strategies to provide a high quality Global production service.
The Private Wealth Management (PWM) business provides end to end Investment Management services and advice across a large range of asset classes for high net worth individuals. PWM leverages a global technology platform offering, an integrated suite of tools, and applications to onboard clients. Our software helps realize a client's goals and objectives, develops and implements an integrated wealth management plan and delivers first-class client service.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
The IC Mission Control team is involved in the production management of various external facing business critical applications across PWM. The ideal candidate would be able to balance a quick turnaround on failure management while having a long term view of how to improve the resiliency and supportability of our production environment.
As part of the team, the person in this role will, under the guidance of the team leader, primarily focus on the following tasks: -Failure resolution, execute routine system check and follow up on issues identified during the checkout process.-Monitor application failures, via internal monitoring systems.- support automation using existing tools -Participate in production recovery drills.-Other tasks to help improve the support process such as creating knowledge base for new applications.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOOKING FOR
- Experience with managing Blue-Green deployments for client facing website
- Experience with managing very High-Available application stack & infrastructure
- Have a strong technical background
- Strong background in Internet and Web based technologies including Apache, Tomcat and JBoss
- Prior experience with Java based application support (some development background with knowledge of standard J2EE and .net frameworks a plus)
- Strong working knowledge of Solaris and Redhat Linux environments (software package management a plus)
- Good knowledge of Perl, CGI and common shell script development
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, protocols, DNS and firewalls
- Fundamental understanding of secure application and environment design and management concepts
- Prior experience supporting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skill.
