Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Duties: Operations Specialist with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Function on the Firm's Client Service Operations (CSO) Hedge Fund Team that provides support for the Firm's prime brokerage clients. Responsibilities include: Build, maintain and enhance client relationships with new and existing clients. Provide clients with a primary point of contact for a wide range of operational issues and account management queries, including addressing trade exception and position management inquiries. Educate clients on enhancements to the GS offering. Compile and analyze metrics to assess client efficiency & experience to identify and drive improvement. Liaise with Core Operations groups such as Client Clearing Services, Control, & Settlements to resolve queries. Interact with the Prime Services business, Sales, Legal and Compliance teams to ensure that commercial opportunities can be facilitated under controlled conditions. Work independently, or with team members and management, on strategic projects and process improvement initiatives to reduce risk and/or improve client service delivery. Have ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally at clients to execute on strategic resolution of operational issues. Monitor daily reports on exceptions and problems by identifying root causes, and manage risks associated.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or equivalent) in an analytical field such as Engineering, Business Administration, Communication, Finance, Economics, Science, Mathematics or a related field. 2.5 years of experience in the job offered or in a related financial operations position. Prior work experience must include: Utilizing technical expertise and understanding of global equity and fixed income markets including settlement cutoffs, market specific risks including but not limited to penalties, buy in risks, nominal limitations, security eligibility; Day to day settlement query resolution; Root cause analysis and strategic resolution of re-occurring problems; identifying risks inherent in daily business process and driving initiatives to design controls to mitigate risk while seeking Straight-Through-Processing (STP) workflows; Experience utilizing knowledge of settlement processes to research and resolve outstanding fails including activities and transactions clearing in local markets globally; Utilizing understanding of financial operations by seeking out and generating creative solutions to systematic problems; Experience with reputational and exposure risk management on behalf of clients due to equity and fixed income cash market nuances.
