Operations Specialist with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Jersey City, NJ.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Duties: Operations Specialist with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Function on a team that partners with all parts of the Firm to deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities and provide essential risk management and control to preserve and enhance the Firm's assets and its reputation. Responsibilities include: Communicate any exceptions to clients regarding trade bookings, commissions or margins, ensuring timely resolution of all discrepancies. Ensure clients are meeting their margin calls in a timely fashion. Coordinate discussions with the Firm's Sales, Trading, Operations and Technology groups to come up with solutions to resolve booking issues whenever they arise. Identify areas for improvement to reduce risk and improve efficiencies and work with technology teams on solutions implementation.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or equivalent) in an analytical field such as Finance, Business Administration, Engineering. Will accept 3 or 4 year degree. 2.5 years of experience in the job offered or in a related financial operations role. Prior work experience must include: Utilizing knowledge of Futures / OTC cleared product knowledge, including margin flows, trade flows and commission flows; Client facing experience; Trade settlement experience and product knowledge in futures / OTC cleared swap trade allocation risk, investigating and evaluating trading issues, and ultimately resolving daily market risk with external brokers; Problem solving and analytical skills pertaining to trade booking reconciliation, general ledger trade breaks, and identifying and resolving market sensitive trade flow issues; Balancing a wide variety of tasks, prioritizing them appropriately, and escalating as needed to wider audiences to ensure correct action; Utilizing client service skills to effectively manage unique client requests and communicate operational requirements and procedures in a high pace and demanding environment; Using standard Microsoft tools including Excel, Word and PowerPoint to track volumes, workflow, and projects including utilizing Pivot tables to manage large datasets, V-looks ups, and basic macros to minimize manual processes and efficiently manage risk; Utilizing industry knowledge and client service skills to effectively manage unique client requests and communicate regulatory and operational requirements and procedures; Experience with oversight and management of exceptions and understanding of reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and address breaks and discrepancies.
