Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of the firm to provide banking, securities, and asset management services to clients around the world. In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and controls to preserve the firm's assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable the business flow.

Securities Division Operations is part of the Operations, Technology and Finance (OT&F) division of Goldman Sachs with a global presence. Securities Operations is organized around four core global functions: trade, custody, and CQM (Control and Quality Management. As an integral part of operations, we support the firm's businesses and other operational groups to design and execute controls over processes, data and infrastructure for exchange, trade and transaction, position monitoring, post settlement reconciliation and reporting, across the trading businesses and syndicate operations. We are responsible for ensuring that the firm is compliant with applicable laws and regulations and reporting accuracy for new and existing business flows as well as implementing quality controls over data supporting these functions.

Our primary driver is to enhance the operations client experience in a risk and control oriented environment.
Critical to our success is our ability to define solutions and lead change across the operational infrastructure by leveraging a global team of talented professionals, which are organized across the following 7 functional departments.

  • Client Control
  • IBD Operations



Equity Client Ops supports the Equities institutional desks with trade booking, confirmation, Prematching and fails management. The team is also responsible for exception detection, research, resolution and escalation of position & cash differences in client, broker and inter-company accounts.

Principal responsibilities include the following-
  • Request account setup and instruction updates
  • Onboard clients to trade electronically
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of client or business requests
  • Ensure trades are booked through STP as a result of the configuration set up

  • Relevant experience in an operational management position or similar role with a proven track record for managing multiple processes, functions and driving change
  • Strong communication skills. Essential for interacting at all levels, across business disciplines and regions
  • Strong influencing skills essential. Capable of assertively interacting with business stakeholders and counterparts in order to resolve day to day issues, control risks and improve operational efficiency
  • Strong problem solving skills/ability to hold clear and concise conversations with internal and external business partners
  • Develop new processes and re-engineer current processes to meet changing needs of the business
  • Highly organized individual with attention to detail and excellent ability to execute on deliverables.
  • Experience in working with business and technology partners to develop functional specifications to address complex business needs
  • Leader who works effectively in a team setting and is creative about providing innovative solutions (new processes, technologies and approaches)
