Lead Specialist - OPS93016MIC
Duties: Lead Specialist with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in Salt Lake City, UT. Support the Firm’s Offshore Private Wealth Management business by reconciling trades, reviewing client statements, analyzing asset transfers and coordinating workflow with local regulators and custodians. Ensure data accuracy, mitigate market sensitive risks and address any issues or questions raised by regulated representatives, clients and accountants in regards to tax and client reporting documents and requirements. Ensure the Firm’s operational activities are performed accurately in a timely manner and in accordance with internal controls and external regulations. Conduct root cause analysis to proactively identify areas of risk, red flags, and unusual activity to prevent fraudulent behavior, financial loss and reputational risk. Implement policies, procedures and regulatory changes by coordinating with senior Goldman Sachs business management, sales teams, legal, controllers, compliance, operations, technology and third party vendors.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or equivalent) in Finance, Economics or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related financial middle office services position. Prior work experience must include: Utilizing industry knowledge and client service skills to effectively manage unique client requests and communicate regulatory and operational requirements and procedures; Experience with oversight and management of exceptions and understanding of reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and address breaks and discrepancies; Liaising with technology and multiple financial operations groups to enhance processes and procedures and implement regulatory changes; Identifying risks inherent in daily business processes and drive initiative to design and document controls to mitigate risk while seeking Straight-Through-Processing (STP) workflows; Managing escalations and complex ad-hoc requests in a timely manner and handle sensitive information appropriately; Utilizing MS Office tools including Excel and Pivot tables to manage large datasets, V-looks ups, and basic macros to minimize manual processes and efficiently mitigate risk; Manipulating data and graphics to report metrics, volumes and workflows; Experience with process enhancement, including defining scope, business impact, and industry requirements supporting both business and technology implementations; Building strategic workflows to reduce manual dependencies and avoid human error; Assisting in the preparation and monitoring of daily and monthly client reporting requirements and activity through tight deadlines, to fulfill service level agreements; Problem solving and analytical skills pertaining to portfolio discrepancies and exception management; Utilizing understanding of financial operational processes, controls and risk by seeking out and generating creative solutions to systemic problems.
