Lead Specialist - OPS92916HMCL
Duties: Lead Specialist with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in Salt Lake City, UT. Monitor real-time futures trading to limit client and Firm exposure to counterparties. Liaise with Firm clients and derivatives trading/sales desks, as well as with futures exchanges and counterparty brokers to resolve trade discrepancies. Balance internal client and Firm positions to Clearing Houses. Serve as an escalation point for more junior team members when risk events are identified, and handle such events appropriately. Run daily checks on all processes to ensure accurate processing of client instructions. Assist in enhancing trade processing flows and systems, establishing support for new markets and products, identifying and mitigating risk, and ensure daily coverage on all functions is adequate for current market volumes.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or equivalent) in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related finance services position. Prior work experience must include: Utilizing knowledge of rules, regulations, and industry-standard practices in allocating listed derivative transactions; Identifying and quantifying risks specific to listed derivatives; Managing operational risks both in identifying new risks and in serving as an escalation point for risks identified by team members; Experience with handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately; Utilizing industry-standard futures exchange platforms to perform basic trade manipulation, specifically the Front End Clearing System (FEC) from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange or Post-Trade Management System (PTMS) from the Intercontinental Exchange; Utilizing project management skills to execute, drive and deliver projects which span multiple stakeholders across business areas with limited resources and competing deadlines, including regulatory related items; Identifying risks inherent in daily business process and drive initiatives to design controls to mitigate risk while seeking Straight-Through-Processing (STP) workflows.
