RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

TEAM DESCRIPTION

The Restructuring team sits within our Leveraged Finance Group and advises companies in the execution of financial restructuring transactions, whether out-of-court or through a court led plan of reorganization. The team works closely with many areas across the firm including classic investment banking, other financing groups (corporate derivatives, liability management, equity capital), merchant banking, credit and ratings advisory, sales and trading, and high yield credit research.

HOW YOU WILL FULFIL YOUR POTENTIAL
  • Help clients, including companies, shareholders, financial sponsors, lenders and governments achieve their strategic and financial objectives, with particular focus on the capital structure / balance sheet in overleveraged or stressed/distressed situations
  • Maintain client communication and interact with stakeholders / investors as part of a financing / restructuring / M&A transaction process
  • Help manage internal deal processes which include performing business, financial and legal diligence, and educating internal risk and control groups
  • Conduct valuation analyses, including through the creation of financial models
  • Create and prepare client presentations and pitches
  • Coordinate and drive transaction processes
  • Assist in structuring and executing capital structure transactions
  • Interact with and work with other relevant groups across the firm to provide the optimal solution for clients
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Strong academic record with Bachelor's level, equivalent or above in Finance, Economics or a related discipline required
  • Current experience within investment banking (or related financial position) required
  • Experience within restructuring, credit or leveraged finance domain required
  • Familiarity with structuring/executing capital structure transactions required
  • Experience of working in a structurer, counterparty and client advisory capacity required
  • Familiarity with DCF, comparable valuation, acquisition finance, due-diligence and M&A processes required
  • Knowledge of corporate finance, derivative securities, derivative securities pricing required
  • Familiarity with investment and financial analyses, risk management and portfolio management required
  • Drive, enthusiasm, creativity and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong quantitative and technical abilities
  • Must be a collaborative team player
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills required
