Human Capital Management, Global Mobility Services, Vice President- Jersey City

Job Summary:

This open position is at Vice President level within the Global Mobility Services (“GMS”) team; the role is based in Jersey City.

Working as team lead for GMS Assignment Management in the Americas, the role has responsibility for managing a team of assignment managers and for the design and operation of expatriate and relocation programs in the Americas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expatriate and Relocation Program Management

o Strategic partner to divisions, working closely with divisional Business Partners and managers to advise on mobility issues, including tax and immigration

o Responsibility for policy interpretation, escalated issues, exception requests and the communication of policy changes to employees and stakeholders

o Senior Management Case Oversight: personal involvement in senior level and/or confidential moves, including counseling; co-ordination of vendors; communication with senior management; careful management of exceptions and escalations

o Global and regional project work, including policy and process reviews, new office/country build outs, vendor reviews and compliance-focused initiatives

  • People Management

o Management of Assignment Managers in Jersey City and SLC – develop, train, coach and support team; deal with any hiring required, coverage issues

o Oversight of on-site vendor staff

  • Vendor Management

o Management of key regional vendors and contribute to management of global vendors

o Attend regular meetings with vendors for case and process updates, projects and review of KPIs; deal with escalations and service enhancement issues

  • Operational Processes and Risk Management

o Approve monthly payroll feeds; SOX reports; oversee year end process including final review of year end allowance adjustments; ensure tax compliance (e.g. reporting, withholding, etc.)

o Interaction with GMS Finance team and generation, review and discussion of financial, metrics and population reports with internal clients

  • Relationship Management

o Develop and maintain relationships with senior firmwide and divisional management, as appropriate

o Responsible for relationship and smooth interaction with other internal functions such as Compensation Accounting, Tax, Compensation, Benefits, Legal, and Business Partners

Basic Qualifications• 8+ years of working in a HR or mobility related field, ideally with some tax and immigration knowledge

  • Strong people management skills
  • Client service focus, notably responsiveness and a “can-do” attitude
  • Ability to think-laterally and design solutions for highly complex processes with strong compliance and reporting components
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Strong team player with leadership skills – credible input into group direction, an ability to motivate, inspire and develop the broader team
  • Proactive in problem solving with strong analytical skills
  • Vendor management experience required
