Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) Platform Engineers work across a variety of problem domains and software stacks. We focus on designing and developing the shared systems and services which drive our Asset Management Investment Strategies, Portfolio Management, Sales, Trading and Client Servicing in GSAM.
The Guidelines Platform team manages a suite of applications that ensure that the investment decisions by portfolio managers comply with client and regulatory investment guidelines.
As part of the development team, the candidate will be building scalable, concurrent and resilient solutions using Java and open source frameworks like Vert.x, MongoDB, Kafka, scikit-learn to name a few.
Opportunity to make an impact in a critical business function with high visibility. Your work will span multiple trading desks and asset classes and improve your understanding of the Asset Management function.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• Enthusiastic, proactive and driven individual with high degree of attention to detail
• Clear understanding of data structure and algorithms
• Familiarity with core programming concepts and techniques (e.g. concurrency, memory management)
• Java, SQL, Relational databases
• Familiarity with standard SDLC tools and Continuous Integration paradigms
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down and communicate complex issues, ideas and solutions
• Bachelor's degree / Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
• Knowledge in Capital Markets
• Experience with Performance tuning
• Familiarity with Python and/or Angular JS
• Familiarity with a vendor product "Sentinel" from Fidessa
