We are seeking an Associate who can help support the expansion of our Global Private Bank's lending platform in new and exciting ways. OUR IMPACT

The Global Private Bank offers traditional banking products (loans, mortgages, deposits) as well as margin financing to high net worth clients. The Private Bank is expanding its lending platform using a state of the art web platform, and leveraging both field based lenders and a centrally located sales, service and support team.

Lending Specialists will be responsible for the centralized sales, service and support of specified geographic regions in partnership and close coordination with in-market field based Regional Lending Managers (RLMs). Responsibilities include loan origination support and pipeline management, portfolio support/service including call and pre-call maintenance, and remote market phone-based coverage. In addition, they will support our RLM's with regional sales, marketing and educational activities, and client related service inquiries direct to GS or sourced via our customer service call center.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Proactively support new loan origination by initiating outbound calls to Advisors and clients, managing pipeline in an effort to move transactions through various stages of development including worksheet, application, approval, documentation and funding, in support of regional goals and objectives
  • Strengthen the quantity and quality of deal flow by providing on-going support of sales and marketing initiatives
  • Track referred transactions through funding, consistently communicating progress to RLM/stakeholders in an effort to manage and exceed internal and external client expectations
  • Coordinate with assigned Regions/RLMs providing regular support as necessary and market coverage when required
  • Field inbound calls and inquiries from Financial Advisors
  • Establish a reputation as a subject matter expert within assigned Region(s)
  • Advise clients on appropriate credit solutions and options available, and negotiate structure and price where applicable
  • Maintain disciplined approach to management of maintenance call requirements
  • Establish strong working relationships with RLMs and functional partners including Credit, Product, Operations, Compliance and Legal
  • Strict adherence to loan origination credit policy and procedures and compliance requirements, including Know Your Customer, with the accurate collection and completion of required documentation
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Firm's Business Principles and Client Service Values

Our Private Wealth Management business spans the globe, with the following locations in the United States: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Miami (Florida and Latin America coverage), Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington, D.C. and West Palm Beach.

Basic Qualifications

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree (US or equivalent); Advance degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in private banking and/or commercial banking roles with experience in desk client support/service and business development
  • Completion of a formal bank credit training program is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of credit products, specifically securities based loans, and structured and commercial credit facilities
  • Experience in understanding the financial and borrowing needs of a wide range of clients and as part of a comprehensive wealth management strategy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering exemplary client service
  • Client-centric with an inherent sense of urgency
  • Exceptional consulting skills; ability to probe and listen to help clarify inquiries, and gather and present data to advance transactions
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills; ability to generate support and build consensus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Collaborative, energetic, enthusiastic, and a self-starter
  • Travel Requirement: Approximately 10% as occasional travel to attend corporate functions, meetings and planning sessions, and regional market visits
