Our analysts work on client-focused research in the equity, fixed-income, currency, and commodities markets, mining big data that enters markets around the world each day to identify game-changing insights. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Global Markets Institute is the public-policy research unit of Goldman Sachs Global Investment Research (GIR), designed to help improve public understanding of capital markets and their role in driving economic growth.

Job Summary and Responsibilities:

  • Research and write on the interaction between capital markets, regulation and economic growth, principally the role of markets in supporting economic growth, the economic impact of financial regulation and the ongoing evolution of financial markets
  • Write across a range of styles and formats (research papers, talking points, speeches, informal pieces etc.)
  • Work with teams across the division / firm on a variety of projects
  • Work with industry groups and think tanks to develop and disseminate policy views

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of work experience
  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Strong research skills and analytical ability (Excel abilities are a must; experience with SAS and/or other statistical analysis tools a plus)
  • Ability to think creatively, take on unstructured assignments, work on a wide range of topics concurrently and work well with teams across the division / firm
  • Interest in learning about a wide range of financial, regulatory and economic topics role
