Goldman Sachs is launching a digitally-led financial services business for consumers. The Firm sees an opportunity to leverage our competencies in technology, analytics and risk management to capture this opportunity at accretive returns and without the burdens of legacy costs and fixed infrastructure.
Job Summary & Responsibilities
–You will be a part of the data analytics function for the Business: including building and enforcing data governance standards for our analytical data warehouse.
–You will serve as the steward of the warehouse, and represent the line of business in larger firmwide discussions.
–You will build entitlement policies that will ensure our Big Data environment is well-controlled, but at the same time make it “frictionless” for the business to analyze data
–You will and own data quality frameworks and dashboards; and present findings to leadership.
–You will help design data architecture to enhance existing pipelines as well as build feeds for new data sources that are compliant with the data quality and governance standards
–You will work closely with business partners, technology and customer analytics teams while evaluating new and alternate data sources, analytical and visualization tools.
–You should be able to quickly build visualizations on top of Hadoop / Sybase data to meet business needs, and influence functional heads on new and innovate ways to ingest data that is compliant with data governance standards, and help drive business value
Basic Qualifications–Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines.
–Hands-on experience with the Hadoop or Spark big data platform and one or more mainstream programming languages (Python, Java, C, Scala, C++, etc.).
–Experience in data management and data governance
–Ability to influence senior management
–At least 2 years experience in a visualization tool such as Tableau
–At least 5 years experience dealing with data (structured or unstructured)
–Strong project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications–Experience working in a start-up business or a new business line within a larger organization is preferred.
