Services Division – Consisting of Corporate Services and Real Estate (CSRE) and the Office of Global Security (OGS), our teams drive productivity and enable the firm’s flow of business while ensuring its safety and security. The Real Estate teams plan, build and operate the firm’s facilities worldwide, ensuring that our core businesses operate efficiently 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Within Real Estate, the Facilities Management team oversees the efficiency, reliability, maintenance and sustainability of Goldman Sachs’ work environments.

Position Summary

This position reports to the Category Lead for firmwide Professional Services, and will work closely on the sourcing projects with Operations. The position is responsible for sourcing and negotiations primarily of BPO/Managed Service vendors, as well as other on and offshore options. Preferred experience working in Operations Sourcing within the Financial Services sector.

Principal Responsibilities

Identify and implement best practices in procurement, commercial and vendor management with a focus on the area of Professional Services (BPO/Managed Services):

  • Partner with business and functional leadership to understand the short, medium and long-term category strategy
  • Implement a governance structure for the procurement of the Operations category and drive commercial excellence through a competitive tender environment
  • Perform project specific and category wide financial analytics
  • Work with Legal to draft and negotiate contract terms
  • Advise Legal and the business on contract terms
  • Perform market research and advise internal and external stakeholders
  • Draft and execute market engagements (RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, etc.)
  • Business development and internal stakeholder outreach
  • Manage direct negotiation with Professional Services and Managed Services (BPO) vendors
  • Assess and assist in the mitigation of vendor risk
  • Ensure appropriate contract structures/types, pricing models, vendor incentive models, service level agreements,

performance indicators and cost models are applied consistently across vendors

Basic QualificationsMinimum 5-7 years of experience in sourcing and procurement, vendor management, legal, and contracting or operational risk management with specific experience working with consulting organizations.

  • Experience with e-sourcing platforms
  • Writing and designing RFP/RFI content, running and awarding bid processes
  • Experience building and analyzing budgets
  • Proven experience developing effective KPI and SLA structures
  • Experience in writing, reviewing, analyzing and managing contracts
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Very strong stakeholder and relationship management skills
  • Very strong teamwork skills
  • Negotiation skills with a proven track record for success
  • Working with global teams and vendors
  • Experience with category management and strategy development
  • Strong project management skills, including ability to organize, track and drive resolution to multiple threads of activity;

hands-on approach to resolving issues
