GLOBAL COMPLIANCEOur division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firm's culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm's enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm's second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firm's compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm's responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. We look for those who possess sound judgment, curiosity, and are able to adapt to a changing regulatory landscape.

The strategic technology initiatives team within Global Compliance's Regulatory Practice Group (RPG) is responsible for defining the strategy for various regulatory applications that are deployed throughout Goldman Sachs. Specifically, these applications facilitate firm processes associated with rule and regulation change management, regulatory exams, audits and inquiries, risk assessments and issue management. Team members will contribute to the design of RPG's regulatory technology strategy, partner with other members of RPG to understand and streamline business processes that impact application workflow, and liaise with Technology and business analysts to execute on defined strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years relevant experience working with regulatory technology at a financial institution, regulatory agency or management consulting firm
  • General understanding of the current regulatory environment
  • Working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle concepts
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to build consensus and drive change
  • Confidence in expressing a point of view with senior management
  • Ability to forge strong relationships with colleagues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
