What We Do

The Consumer and Investment Management Division includes Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), Private Wealth Management (PWM) and our Consumer business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs). We provide asset management, wealth management and banking expertise to consumers and institutions around the world. CIMD partners with various teams across the firm to help individuals and institutions navigate changing markets and take control of their financial lives

The firm's Consumer business, Marcus by Goldman Sachs, combines the entrepreneurial spirit of a startup with more than 150 years of experience. Today, we serve millions of customers across multiple products including Lending, Deposits, financial tools, and our partnership with Apple on Apple Card. We use innovative design, customer-centric thinking, data, engineering and other core capabilities to provide customers with powerful tools and products that are grounded in value, transparency and simplicity. As we continue to build a leading digital consumer bank and expand into new products and partnerships, we are looking for leaders to join our team.

The Marcus Network Team is at the center of Goldman Sachs Consumer Banking with a primary focus on the relationship with the Network(s) (e.g. Mastercard / Visa) . The Network Management Vice President will have a critical role in Relationship Management, Business Analytics, Product Management, as well as responsibilities spanning the day-to-day management of Network rules and configurations. The Network Management Vice President will be accountable for providing insights to project teams and senior management on topics such as network fees and interchange, Network(s) rules and changes, and new products.



Responsibilities

Product & Relationship Management

  • Network(s) Management
  • Funds usage
  • Includes but not limited to: incentives, marketing, Advisors engagements
  • Issuer product & tool exploration
  • For example: new fraud capabilities, new business management tools
  • Consortium participation
  • For example: Risk and Fraud working groups
  • BIN / Token-BIN maintenance
  • Cross-network de-confliction as multiple networks may be used to support the business
  • New program development and terms optimization
  • Quarterly business reviews
  • Includes but not limited to: reporting reviews, strategy and pricing discussions, insights on network development roadmap
  • Ad hoc issue management

Rules / Standards Adherence
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Network(s) Standards and Spec documents; plus Attestation on compliance with critical Rules
  • Monitor for updates (weekly), including Network(s) postings to the respective Card Network(s) Portals and Technical Resource Centers
  • If updates are related to the U.S. Deposits Business, ensure no conflicts with regulations, determine impact to the U.S. Deposits Business, and execute required changes, including with all impacted vendors / partners

Reporting
  • Quarterly Management Reporting - QMR
  • Benefits reporting
  • Fee and settlement report reviews
  • Interchange reviews
  • User access management for Card Network(s) Portals

Merchant Breach Response
  • Strategy setting and execution for mass cancel / re-issuance events
    • Involves Delivery, Fraud, Legal, Compliance, and other teams
    • Process requires monitoring of own portfolio data + Data Compromise Events published in Card Network(s) Portals in conjunction with a multi-step remediation effort including:
      • Impact analysis
      • Decision on cards to be replaced
  • Decision on cards to be flagged for enhanced monitoring
  • Decision on communications (internal and external) to be sent about the event
  • Partner will expect us to be highly knowledgeable and ready here

Stand-In Response
  • Strategy-setting and execution for system downtime events

Base Qualifications
  • Experience working with a major credit card or debit card Network
  • Experience with consumer banking products, especially checking
  • Experience managing a team and/or working with cross-functional teams
