Associate-Intermediate/VP with Goldman, Sachs & Co. LLC in Jersey City, NJ

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)


Duties: Associate-Intermediate/VP with Goldman, Sachs & Co. LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Manage collateral and counterparty credit exposure across various derivatives and collateralized instruments. Responsibilities include: ensure regulatory adherence, and facilitate payments approval related to cash and security collateral; manage relationships with brokers, custodians, prime brokers and fund administrators to improve quality and productivity of work, integrating best practices as appropriate; provide leadership in navigating evolving financial regulatory landscape and help develop technological solutions to build appropriate architecture; liaise with traders and brokers to ensure efficient use of collateral; contribute to process improvement initiatives, to reduce risks and increase controls and efficiencies; represent Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) in industry forums to help influence and define market processes to meet changing technological and regulatory requirements. Supervise eight (8) Associates and Analysts.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Math, Economics, Business Administration, Finance or a related field. Will accept a single or combination of degrees, diplomas or professional credentials deemed equivalent by a qualified evaluations agency. Seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or trade management role in asset management or related role in financial services. Prior work experience must include: working with bilateral, listed, and cleared derivatives traded within fund and separate account structures, and adhere to the applicable existing or planned regulatory rules to support the collateralization of these products; experience with trading agreements (such as ISDA, CSA, MSFTA, MRA, GMRA, ACA, Credit Facility Agreements and Clearing Agreements) and the terms within; working with upstream and downstream processes impacting collateral management; utilizing understanding of the trade lifecycle, from order and execution management, allocation, confirmation and fail management, valuation, pricing, margin calculation, reconciliation, cash management, and custody settlement practices; working with collateral industry tools and standards such as SWIFT messaging, Margin Transit Utility, TriOptima, Bloomberg and Acadiasoft; working with ISDA best practices pertaining to collateral management and dispute resolution; identifying risks and inefficiencies in daily business processes and drive initiatives to mitigate those risks, improve processes, and review and enhance operations processes and controls to ensure effective oversight and risk management; running large scale user acceptance tests across multiple regions and utilizing project management skills to liaise with technology groups to initiate, communicate, develop and test requirements to effectively implement projects related to business changes or regulatory requirements; liaising with traders, operations, controllers, legal, technology, and regulatory reform professionals to create business requirements specifications; utilizing client service skills in a demanding and fast-paced asset management environment to ensure client requirements are understood and implemented effectively; experience with client facing activities to ensure client service is met while preserving the scalability and control of a given process; Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills in order to perform analytics, develop operational procedures and IT requirement documents, and present and communicate material to senior leaders, business partners, and clients.
