Associate-Intermediate/Vice President, TECH121516MMFE

Duties: Associate-Intermediate/Vice President with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Responsible for interacting with multiple technology teams and business users in the Firm to drive forward the strategy and support for Regulatory Controllers’ business initiatives; responsible for full life cycle of development, from initial analysis and requirements gathering with users and stakeholders, through design, development, quality assurance testing and production release; understand and enhance existing complex software systems; contribute to strategic/technical vision in developing scalable low maintenance infrastructure for the Customer Protection and Balance Sheet systems; code, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology; project management responsibility includes providing work estimates and raising critical project issues such as technical/project risks; work as part of a global team and provide input to better the existing workflow and contribute to maximize the team’s productivity; responsible for career and technical guidance to junior staff through both formal and informal mentoring.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field, plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have experience with: JAVA; Object-Oriented Analysis & Design; persistence technologies, such as Sybase and Sybase IQ; testing frameworks, such as Fitnesse and Junit; creating project plans and technical design from functional specifications, managing project timelines, and defining project risks and mitigants; Linux and/or Unix; scripting languages, such as KSH, Bash; working effectively with both global project team and global business stakeholders; software development lifecycle tools, including Ant and/or Maven; interacting with business stakeholders to elicit both functional requirements and project deliverables.
