RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Duties: Associate-Intermediate-Research/VP with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Researching and writing reports on commodity market developments and broader thematic topics, in particular commodities as an asset class (i.e. within a portfolio context). Convey analysis and market views to sales and trading desks, and clients (both commodity and portfolio allocation specialists and non-specialists). Data gathering, analyses and presentation. Using large data sets of economic and commodity, market and company data. Building and maintaining advanced forecasting models.

Job Requirements: Master's degree (U.S. or equivalent) in Economics or a related field. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related commodities markets position. Prior work experience must include: Writing reports on in-depth economic analysis of commodities macro and micro markets (individual commodity market micro analysis and commodities as they relate to the global macro picture / portfolio allocation); Manipulating large data sets of economic, market data and commodity fundamentals into clean, usable datasets; Building empirically reliable econometric models estimated with techniques including: least squares; maximum likelihood; generalized least squares; partial least squares; ARIMA; ARCH / GARCH, VAR, panel and mixed data models, time-domain, frequency-domain and Kalman filtering; Estimating econometric models using the above techniques in Python, R, Eviews and Stata; Building, analyzing and communicating the results of theoretical micro and macro-economic models; Presenting views on commodities, global macro and portfolio strategy views to clients including sales and trading teams. FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses. Travel required.
