Duties: Associate-Intermediate, Vice President with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in Jersey City, NJ. Build scalable, high-throughput data transfer engine to orchestrate the movement of data from multiple source systems to the Firm’s centralized, consolidated data management platform. Design and deploy resilient service based Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to provide access to reference data for all of the Firm’s Asset Management business functions. Develop control framework to verify that data integrity and completeness are maintained when transferring data from source to target. Build complex, modular software components that integrate off-the-shelf components with proprietary technologies. Develop technical specifications, technical design, test and implementation plans to meet business requirements. Responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation and production support. Provide support for production applications including the deployment, configuration and monitoring of individual processes and the diagnosis and resolution of system outages. Work directly with other teams globally in Technology, Operations and Controllers to define requirements, develop project plans and resolve project related issues. Provide technical guidance and assistance to junior members of the team. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies. No knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have five (5) years of experience with: developing Java applications, including the full software development life cycle – requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment and support. Standard build and testing tools, such as Gradle, Junit, and Jenkins; developing comprehensive unit and integration tests for Java applications with JUnit and Mockito; developing horizontally scalable Java applications that can be deployed over large numbers of commodity hardware nodes; developing resilient applications based on de-coupled messaging based architecture, such as EMS/Kafka; managing multiple responsibilities – implementing large scale applications, supporting a global user base and communicating effectively with senior stakeholders; and deploying Linux-based processes, including the writing of shell scripts and expertise with the Linux command line. Must have three (3) years of experience with: SQL development; and Sybase.
