Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Engage in entire software development life cycle with members of Technology Financial Services (TFS) and representatives of the Firm’s business divisions to design and develop database solutions that document processing and reporting requirements. Interact with end users to elicit requirements and convert requirements into technical designs and solutions. Develop database and interface designs based on requirements and screen designs from other business analysts. Support business users of EDGE systems; communicate ideas clearly and concisely to non-technical users of the system; resolve support issues. Analyze, enhance and maintain complex in-memory graphs of product cost recovery data to enhance performance of product cost recovery calculations and reporting. Develop ETL to extract, transform and load data from external sources and to feed data to downstream systems. Drive database and related code build and release cycles via a scripted approach. Package and deploy Python code to QA, UAT, and Production environments. Analyze and identify breaks in cost recovery data and associated code. Develop and implement test plans for database and graph code and implement fixes for existing code defects. Take responsibility for several large components of large or complex projects, specifically focused on design and coding, or for all facets of smaller projects. Develop project plans, identify key milestones, and raise critical project issues such as resource constraints. Conduct code reviews.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in an Engineering discipline, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have five (5) years of experience with: relational database design, including data normalization theory and practice; dimensional/star schema modeling; the full Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including selection of appropriate life cycle (such as waterfall, agile, or iterative); testing, change management (JIRA or similar), and source code control (SVN or similar); interacting with end users, eliciting requirements and explaining technical concepts and issues. Must have three (3) year of experience with: using DB2 SQL and PL/SQL for complex manipulation of data stored in DB2; development of Informatica ETL to transform, validate and load data to our database, and feed data from our database to other systems within the firm. Must have one (1) year of experience with: coding of control utilities and other wrapper functionality using Python; design and implementation of in-memory graphs using Python modules such as NetworkX, igraph or Graph-tool. Must include experience in identification and resolution of loops/cycles in resulting graphs, and calculation of weighted edge values within cycles; data analysis using Python modules such as Pandas and Numpy; development of REST APIs to permit querying of and updates to the graph.
