Duties: Associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in Jersey City, NJ. Design, analyze, build and test financial software used to support the Firm’s Margin and Collateral Management systems while working in a team environment. Code and test applications/RESTful services for software that is ongoing a multi-year transformation to a micro-service based architecture. Translate business and technical requirements into well-engineered business applications based on object oriented design and with high automated test coverage. Interface with internal clients/end users and other development teams. Support the current system and setup, identify/analyze problems, and propose solutions. Mentor junior developers, analysts and interns advising on technical and career-development aspects. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies. No knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a closely related field, plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have five (5) years of experience with: full software development life-cycle, including requirement initiation, definition, documentation, development, testing, go-live, post-go-live and production support; building, designing and maintaining distributed back-office financial systems and/or related systems; software development lifecycle tools including version control, build management, dependency management, continuous integration, issue/bug tracking, and code review controls. Must have three (3) years of experience with: working in a business-facing or client-facing role delivering multiple projects; developing RESTful services with test driven development mechanism; developing in large scale software development projects, spanning multiple systems and user groups; UNIX/Linux, DB2, Enterprise JAVA related technologies for building and supporting applications.
