Duties: Associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York, NY. Senior technical developer in Private Wealth Management Technology, responsible for developing and supporting a number of Portfolio Management and Trading applications. Analyze, enhance, and maintain a suite of portfolio management applications using JAVA, Sybase/DB2/MongoDB databases with .Net and Angular JS front ends and proprietary database analytics calculators. Lead projects through all the stages of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including providing work estimates and raising critical project issues such as technical/project risks. Formulate design and implementation requirements for the applications following coding best practices and utilizing Object-Oriented programming and design patterns concepts. Engage in test-driven development using Junit, Mockito, and Nunit. Build and release management using scripting technologies. Package and deploy code to Linux servers and local user hosts across different test and production environments. Interact with traders and portfolio managers to gather requirements for projects. Support the different applications by communicating ideas clearly and concisely to non-technical users of the systems. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies. No knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have three (3) years of experience (as a Master’s degree holder) or five (5) years of experience (as a Bachelor’s degree holder) with: Java 1.6 or higher, including an understanding of advanced topics including multi-threading environment, JDBC, Reflections, Generics and collection framework; SQL, Stored procedures and Sybase or similar relational database; UI development with Javascript or .Net; Linux, including knowledge of UNIX commands to be able to analyze, maintain and develop server side scripts; design patterns, Object Oriented Programming and Best practices of coding; unit testing tools including Junit, Mockito, and NUnit; major source control system, such as svn, cvs, or git; working across the entire SDLC lifecycle of product development, including requirements gathering, functional and technical design, development, user acceptance testing, release procedures, change request analysis, and production support. Must have at least two (2) years of experience working concurrently on multiple development projects. Must have one (1) year of experience with leading small project teams or working independently to deliver a project and financial products.
