Duties: Associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York, NY. Responsible for development, maintenance, debugging, and technical support of technology applications written in Java, C/C++, Sybase and proprietary technologies for the Interest Rate Products and Repo Trading and Sales desks. Develop new trading booking/processing solutions using Java as well as the Firm’s proprietary technologies. Responsible for the full software development life cycle including end-user interaction to collect and document new requirements, design, develop, review, test, deploy and support trade booking and trade processing applications. Work directly with Traders, Sales, Strategists, Controllers, Operations, and other Technology teams in order to extract and process data for analytics and statistical reporting. Participate as part of a global development team on large technology projects, assume responsibilities of modules of projects depending on need. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies, no knowledge of proprietary technology is required pre-hire.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Services, Information Technology, an Engineering discipline, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Services, Information Technology, an Engineering discipline, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have three (3) years of experience: developing and maintaining applications utilizing UNIX and Object Oriented languages, such as C++ and Java, on distributed platforms; developing software solutions to financial problems related to front-office functions and familiarity with Fixed Income products; developing and maintaining SQL and stored procedures for storing, extracting and processing data in Relational Databases, such as Sybase and Oracle; practicing the full software development life-cycle, including end-user interaction to gather and document requirements, design, develop, review, test, deploy and post-deployment support; unit testing and regression testing for development changes; source code control systems, such as SVN, CVS, or GIT. Must have two (2) years of experience with: object database development to store, extract and process information; creating and maintaining data processing and reports using scripting languages, such as Python.
