Duties: Associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York, NY. Senior member of the Interest Rates Product Technology Frontline team responsible for developing and supporting applications across a range of functions such as quoting, trade booking, risk, and pricing. Provide first line support for a number of trading desks including U.S. Treasuries, Swaps, and Volex. Work closely with members of the Trading, Strats, Sales, and Operations groups to identify and resolve issues with processes, procedures, and systems. Utilize/demonstrate proficiency in the following: the Firm’s proprietary technologies, Java, and SQL. Assume responsibility for development projects through the complete software development cycle including gathering requirements from business users, design of the solution, coding, and testing. Provide guidance to more junior members of the team in the area of software development best practices. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies. No knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have three (3) years of experience with: financial markets, specifically in the area of interest rate products; database systems and SQL development; full software development life cycle, including experience working with front and back office staff (trading and operations groups) to gather requirements, converting user requirements to a technical design, and the coding, testing, and installation of software systems. Must have experience with: software development in at least one object oriented (OO) language such as Java or C#; design patterns and software development best practices including the writing of automated test cases.
