Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, NY. Lead the development of a number of Business Intelligence (BI) and Collaboration Technology systems. Engineer a complex external self-service data visualization tool set used across the range of the Firm’s businesses. Contribute to entire aspects of the Business Intelligence platform, including architecting, building a control framework, offering expertise in data visualization tools and managing BI vendor relationships. Drive meetings with Risk teams to reinforce controls, with Platforms team to integrate with Big Data, and User Experience teams to establish best practices for data visualization. Collaborate with non-technical/business users, such as Securities Division teams, to implement a user-defined-applications and data analytics framework via Java, relational and NoSQL databases, and via web programming technologies. Operate across the entire SDLC of product development, including requirements gathering; functional and technical design; development; user acceptance testing; release management; change requests; and production support. Mentor junior team member on full stack web development, and provide guidance on leveraging Java, NoSQL, and JavaScript libraries. Oversee and drive expansion of a suite of embedded web widgets allowing re-usability, reducing time to market for internal web applications, and increasing collaboration. Manage multiple RESTful service libraries in the collaboration and social space, and consult on best practices and review testing plan for consuming web service and web components.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field AND three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field AND five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have at least three (3) years of experience with: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including two (2) years of experience in jQuery, Backbone, or Angular; engineering software with MVC pattern; working with legal, compliance and risk teams in financial industry, including familiarity with the regulatory requirements, such as retention and information barrier controls, for dealing with sensitive data; working independently on a global development team and communicating status/design effectively across multiple regions; Full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including direct end user interaction to translate requirements into design, defining test scenarios and engaging in development, build and release to production environment, should include experience in analyzing, developing and modifying Quality Assurance (QA) tests; partnering with development operations (DevOps) teams to deploy, monitor and maintain servers and processes. Must have at least two (2) years of experience with: knowledge of vendor relationship management; back-end development experience, including compiled OO languages such as Java and scripting languages such as Perl and Bash; knowledge of networking technologies, topologies, and protocols such as TCP/IP, https, firewall, Web sockets.
