Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Design, develop, test and maintain highly reliable systems to help with the Firm’s Compliance-related activities. Analyze moderately complex problems, systems or information related to firm’s Sanctions Screening program. Partner closely with Compliance users to understand requirements and come up with recommended solutions. Develop and maintain project plans and keep track of timelines. Utilize Compliance business knowledge in building enhancements and new functionalities; assist in the diagnosis and resolution of production issues and other incidents in order to maintain stability and integrity of systems used globally by all employees of the Firm. Utilize Data Structures, Java programming, Elastic Search, Angular JS, PERL, Maven, JUnit, JDBC, XSL, XML, DB2, Linux/Unix as well as propriety frameworks such as Mithra to design, develop, test and maintain Compliance systems. Independently take ownership of complex functional modules in the Compliance domain and support maintenance and updates required related to Regulatory and Business changes. Work in small to medium teams with individuals who are globally located, mentor junior developers and provide code reviews to ensure high coding standards. Must be wiling to work with proprietary technologies. No knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have experience with: Java & associated frameworks; Linux, scripting, DB2, Elastic Search, and SQL; designing and creating intuitive and feature rich web based front end systems using Angular JS; independently managing several large components or complex projects and working closely with other team members; working on the full software development life cycle, including design, implementation, testing and deployment; working on a global software development team and communicating status/design effectively across multiple regions; working on multiple projects concurrently and managing objectives/priorities.
