Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, NY. Associate on Investing and Lending Technology team, responsible for developing Whole Loan trading applications. Lead projects through all the stages of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including providing work estimates and raising critical project issues such as technical/project risks. Work directly with users to clarify requirements. Formulate design and implementation requirements in the system by following coding best practices and utilizing Object-Oriented programming and design patterns concepts. Design, develop, and test applications in Java, J2EE, JavaScript, and the Firm’s proprietary language. Write SQL scripts and stored procedures. Work with users to resolve production support related issues with regard to trading, risk and P&L applications built in Java, J2EE, JavaScript, and the Firm’s proprietary language. Engage in test-driven development by writing Unit tests and RegTests. Interact with Traders/Operations/Controllers on a regular basis, understand their concerns regarding the systems, and address them accordingly. Support existing legacy systems and newly built systems on a regular basis. Train and mentor analysts and other associates within the team locally and globally. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies; no knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related field OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related field. Must have three (3) years of experience with: developing applications in any Object Oriented programming language that solves financial business problems; developing with SQL and stored procedures; Object Oriented (OO) Concepts; and Software Development life cycle, including Test Driver approach by writing unit tests and RegTests. Must have two (2) years of experience: developing/understanding Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) applications; financial products, including fixed income securities; and Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
