Associate, TECH1112RPRAC

Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Responsible for support, maintenance and development of the Data Lake refiners for transforming data at scale using technologies, such as Apache Spark, Java, Hive and Scala. Engage in the entire software development lifecycle, including interacting with end users to elicit and convert requirements into technical solutions and interact with end users to resolve support issues. Enhance, maintain and support various Cobra sourcing processes. Participate as part of a global team on large development projects within Cobra and Regulatory reporting space. Design, evaluate and recommend tools and technologies that the team should be using to help solve problems. Actively participate as a member of a global team on larger development projects and assume responsibilities of components of global projects, depending on need. Package and deploy code to a set of UNIX servers across different test and production environments. Support the system with business users and communicate ideas clearly and concisely to non-technical users of the system.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have five (5) years of experience with: Java, including an understanding of advanced topics including multi-threading environment, JDBC, SQL, Reflections, Generics, Collections; design patterns, Object Oriented Programming and best practices of coding; collaborating and working with multiple geologically distributed teams; Test Driven development; testing frame works, such as Junit; relational database development; refactoring legacy applications; working on multiple development projects concurrently; major source control system, such as SVN, CVS; and Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for development and project plan estimates, including experience gathering requirements, designing, developing, reviewing, building, testing and deployment of commercial scale software changes. Must have experience with: designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Java-based applications within a banking/financial domain; developing software applications utilizing Object Relational Mapping (ORM) and optimizing queries for relational databases; developing software with Spring Framework; and UNIX operating system.
