Duties: Associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York, NY. Senior developer with the Derivative Settlements Technology team. Responsible for the software development used in payment processing and electronic confirmation of foreign exchange (FX) and OTC derivative transactions. Lead interactions with other technology teams around settlement and payment functions to deploy appropriate technology solutions. Design and develop complex application software which builds functionality that interacts with existing applications and platforms. Systems are built using Java, C++, SQL databases, no-SQL caches, real-time messaging, complex event processing frameworks and service based architectures. Analyze business and operational processes and produce professional workflow and status diagrams for presentation and discussion. Provide project oversight for other software developers within the global development team to validate software design and implementation, enforce robust tests, help formulate deployment strategies and ensure software is scalable, resilient and performant. Performance tuning and troubleshooting of issues which go across all application tiers and service based application architectures. Responsible for oversight of multiple projects simultaneously and execute projects independently. Conduct formal training and informal mentoring to more junior technology analysts.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have three (3) years of: professional software development experience working directly with Java, C++ and SQL databases; professional experience working through full SDLC processes, including interacting with users to elicit requirements, design and development of application functionality, conducting direct user acceptance testing and post-release production support; professional experience developing software which builds functionality into existing complex real-time event processing systems that handle high transaction volumes with low processing latency; and professional experience working on multiple concurrent projects that require engaging with development and user teams across multiple global regions. Must have experience with: no-SQL databases and distributed data caches, BPMN process definition, CEP frameworks, real-time messaging, RESTful Web Services and ORM technologies; and post trade life cycle processing and operational processes involved with settlement and confirmation of FX and OTC derivative products, including knowledge and experience of the FX settlement process using CLS and electronic confirmations using SWIFT and other industry platforms such as DTCC and OTC derivative clearing houses.
