Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Senior developer in the Firm’s Investment Management Division Finance Engineering technology business unit responsible for developing a number of systems. Analyze, enhance, and maintain a complex regulatory reporting system responsible for generating reports for many regulations and analyze, enhance, and maintain a suite of applications using Java and Sybase databases with Angular JS enabled front end. Lead small teams through all the stages of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including providing work estimates and raising critical project issues such as technical/project risks. Formulate design and implementation requirements in the system following coding best practices and utilizing object oriented programming and design patterns concepts. Engage in test-driven development using Junit, Easy mock, Power mock, and DBunit. Build and release management using scripting technologies. Package and deploy code to a set of UNIX servers across different test and production environments. Support the system with business users and communicate ideas clearly and concisely to non-technical users of the system.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience with: working with Java 1.6 or higher, including an understanding of advanced topics including multi-threading environment, JDBC, Reflections, Generics and collection framework; utilizing SQL, Stored procedures and Sybase or similar relational database; working with Linux, including knowledge of UNIX commands to be able to analyze, maintain and develop server side scripts; developing software in a financial domain; working across the entire software development lifecycle of product development, including requirements gathering; functional and technical design; development; user acceptance testing; release procedures; change request analysis; and production support; and working directly with business users: understanding business flows, gathering requirements, designing/developing technical solutions to business problems. Must have one (1) year of experience with: utilizing Perl; and leading small project teams.
