Duties: Associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York, NY. Work closely with futures traders to develop the Firm’s front-end futures trading platform that is based on the firm’s proprietary framework, C++, Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC), CORBA, and Reuters Market Data Services technology. Partner with futures desk strategists to develop various order-based performance analytics/reports using Firm’s proprietary technology (Slang/SecDb), relational databases, and NoSQL databases. Directly responsible for full life cycle of development, from initial analysis and requirements gathering with users, through design, development, quality assurance (QA) testing and production release. Interact with global user base to elicit user requirements and convert business specifications into technical solutions. Participate as part of a global team on large development projects and/or assume responsibility for components of projects, depending on need. Train and mentor analysts and associates within the team. Must be willing to work with proprietary technology. No knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or an Engineering discipline and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or an Engineering discipline and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have three (3) years of experience (if Master’s) or five (5) years of experience (if Bachelor’s): developing graphical user interfaces (GUI) using C++, Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC), CORBA, and Reuters Market Data Services; analyzing, modifying and quality assurance (QA) testing of multi-tiered trading systems; working on a global software development team and communicating status/design effectively across multiple regions; visual Studio Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and using SubVersion (SVN) code repository; supporting developed solutions for a 24×5 realtime global userbase; developing trading or analytic software using relational databases (Sybase or DB2), NoSQL databases (Hbase or MongoDb), and Java.
