Duties: Associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York, NY. Associate on the team responsible for the development, maintenance and support of multi-asset class, 3-tier architected platform for generation and transmission of legal paper and electronic derivatives confirmations. Act as the point of contact for business groups within the Firm’s Derivatives Operations division for requirements gathering, enhancement and support of web confirmation platform that is built using Java-JSP-AJAX and Sybase on DMZ servers. As part of a global team on large development projects, participate and/or assume responsibility of sizeable modules in the projects, depending on need, such as building document generation using Thunderhead, integrating commodities metals flow to ICE eConfirm platform, etc. Develop in a virtualized Linux environment, conforming to the Firm’s software development lifecycle (SDLC) and the Firm’s standard policies/procedures. Actively contribute to quality of project delivery by providing oversight for development, testing and implementation processes, such as CSF onboarding, weekly code reviews, design reviews. Design, evaluate, and select tools necessary to build, test, and support systems, such as Zebra toolkit for automated testing. Functional knowledge of derivatives legal and economic confirmation processing for Commodities, FX, Equities, Rates and Credit domains. Functional knowledge of derivatives regulatory confirmation reporting. Lead team through the design and development phase and perform code reviews for junior developers on weekly basis. Mentor junior developers on JAVA and related development such as managing graywolf development pods. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies. No knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have three (3) years of experience with: GUI development in VC++, Web-based JavaScript, AJAX, and JSP; Full SDLC, including direct end user interaction to translate requirements into design, defining test scenarios and engaging in test-driven development and automation; developing legal confirmations software using relational databases (Sybase OR DB2), Java8, Angular JS, and C++; Unix development environment and SHELL/PERL scripting; Visual Studio IDE and using SVN code repository; Enterprise Systems and Development Patterns, including Remote Procedure Calls; Messaging Middleware Solutions; and Service-Oriented Architectures; XML/FpML Processing, and XPath queries; SDLC technologies, including – JIRA, Sonar, Jenkins, SVN, and FitNesse, Crucible or similar; and Confluence or similar; continuous integration and automated testing tools including Maven and Junit; functional knowledge of derivatives legal and economic confirmation processing for Commodities, FX, Equities, Rates and Credit domains; and functional knowledge of derivatives regulatory confirmation reporting.
